Ready to cross in to Thailand tomorrow

31st July 2014

Last night we went back for a meal at the restaurant La Cave where the staff know us from past visits, they always make us very welcome and the food was as good as ever. We did have one problem though, that you will not believe, when the starter’s arrived we both started to look for our Chop Sticks, we then realized that we had been in China for a full month and had never used a knife and fork for all that time, it was very strange not having Chop Sticks to eat a meal with. During our meal we sat talking about different aspects of the trip and one thing was the Chinese drivers and when they learn to drive they are taught to concentrate only on what goes on in front of them and anything that happens at the back is nothing to do with them, they do definitely follow this rule, what a way to teach anybody to drive.

Today after Les and I discussed where we wanted to go for dinner tonight we both said back to the La Cave in Fountain Square, only this time and for the first time in six months Les will be wearing all her jewellery.

This morning I got out of bed early and set off downstairs to take a look at Plodd, she was filthy so at 7am I decided to clean her, the hotel said it was OK to use their hosepipe so I did and by 8.30am she looked as clean as a whistle and still sat in Fidibus’s spot but now gleaming!!!!

Les got up a little later and we went for a walk in the old town it was red hot, we called at the Scandinavian bakery for two sandwiches for lunch then went back to our aircon room, Les set about getting the company accounts up to date and I went for a Laos massage and spent time down stairs on the hotel computer

booking the Pullman Hotel in Khon Kaen Thailand for the 1st and 2nd August to see Duncan our good friend that lives there. Andy another friend said he would travel from his home 50km away to there on Saturday to meet us for a drink. This is our favourite hotel in Thailand and seems a fitting end to our amazing trip home to Thailand.
