Arrived in Budapest

25th March 2014

Hi Everybody,

We arrived in Budapest last night at 5pm (17.00) and the campsite we had chosen was closed (looked like it was closed down forever), we did not intend to drive all the way but in Slovakia there was just no campsites open, they seem to open on the 1st May in many places. We used our ACSI book and found a site called Zugligeti Niche not far from the centre of Budapest.Anyway after driving 613Km, guess what ? we decided to go out for a meal, the restaurant Remiz’s (the people at the campsite recommended) was fab! They had a lady in the corner of the restaurant playing the piano and she had a real talent.Must have been the best food of the trip so far (excluding Chez- Max in Luxembourg of course).

Today we are hoping to meet up with my cousins Judit and Adel, and stay here in Hungary about 1 week or so, to recharge our batteries (not Plodds ours).

The campsite is a disused tram station ,very old but really nice it has a typical Hungarian style restaurant made I guess from the station masters accommodation all in all very interesting to see.

So that is it up to date, I will be sending some photographs to my P.A.Loops who will hopefully load them on to the site!:)

Total milage traveled to date is 3753km
